Technical Translation

Translation is the conversion of a text from one language to another. The main purpose of translation is to convey a message between different communities, allowing the content to be understood without the occurrence of linguistic and cultural inconsistencies. For this reason, in addition to a high level of terminological and grammatical competence, a good translator must also possess cultural knowledge that allows him or her to grasp expressive nuances of both the source and target languages.

Translation covers a wide range of content. Therefore, it is generally more correct to speak of specialized translation - or sectoral translation - as the quality of a job of linguistic conversion of a text is directly related to the mastery or, even better, the experience of the translator in the field of the text to be translated. In my experience as a professional linguist, I have translated literary works, tourist books, legal certifications, contracts, web pages, business documents, instruction manuals, human resource materials, surveys, and much more.

In particular, for my past work experience in the Marketing & Sales industry, I have specialized in the translation of marketing texts (brochures, media articles, public relations, websites, online stores, blogs, etc.,) and technical materials (instruction manuals, datasheets, patents, catalogs, etc.). By taking on the job of translating a specialized text, I ensure familiarity with your industry, knowledge of technical terminology, and familiarity with your business language.

By using state-of-the-art translation software, SDL Trados 2021, I can take on repetitive, high-volume tasks (such as updating instruction manuals and other documents), integrating my work with that of your agency or company to ensure consistency of terms and expressions. The formats I primarily use for translating technical documents are PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; however, you can send me a document in another format and I will check to see if I can process it.
